LOCAL OUTREACH

Local Outreach at Pennington Park exists to help you multiply as you seek to better know Jesus and make him known. We desire to come alongside our people as they do the work of evangelism by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of their friends, family, neighbors, and community. Here are some ways you can help out:

FAMILY ADVOCATE MINISTRY

Our desire at Pennington Park is to walk alongside foster care families and provide support and respite during this season of caring for others within their home. Care Groups are made up of 6-8 individuals of our church that walk alongside a foster family and provide meals, light yard work, and childcare. If you are interested in being a part of one of these groups, contact Nick Grossman.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR

Our neighbors are only a few steps away and you can be a witness to them through conversations or extending a helping hand. Remember to check in on those living near you, and find ways you can demonstrate the love and care of Christ. Write an encouraging note, exchange phone numbers, offer to make a grocery run, and invite them to attend one of our services on Sundays.

OUTREACH INC.

Outreach Inc is a ministry based on the near east side of Indianapolis. Their mission is Equipping and empowering homeless teens and young adults to achieve stability and life transformation. Several of our members have been long time volunteers with Outreach Inc. In 2022, the opportunity arose for our church to help with Outreach Inc’s satellite location in Lawrence, which made a perfect fit for our Christmas Offering. Now, our church has the opportunity to volunteer at the location we helped support.

Fill out a volunteer interest form for Outreach to learn more about individual or group volunteering at their new Lawrence location on Thursday evenings. Mention Pennington Park/Lawrence in comments!

CAMPUS LIFE

Campus Life has been a long-time ministry partner with our church. Campus Life is a program of Youth For Christ, a non-profit organization that has been active throughout the United States for over 65 years. Along with fantastic trips and events, they host weekly meetings that address issues students face while relating them to basic Christian principles.

Campus Life is a positive place where students can go to have fun with friends, talk about relevant issues and be heard without judgment. It’s a place where students are challenged to make good decisions, lead in positive ways in their school, and discover Jesus in the process. If you would like to get involved in our local Campus Life, contact Dan Hillen to get connected.

COOPER HOUSE

The Cooper House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry based in Hamilton County. They exist to foster hope for families by providing support and encouragement in their time of crisis, while sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. TCH serves families, individuals, and children specifically involved with the Department of Child Services; providing a home-like environment for the programs they offer. All who enter TCH are welcome, seen, heard, chosen, and loved despite their past or current circumstances. In 2022, our church partnered with The Cooper House in the Christmas Offering to help them expand & grow the ministry to serve even more vulnerable families and foster youth. Check out the ways YOU can volunteer and foster HOPE here.
