STUDENTS

Our Student Ministry at Pennington Park exists to know Jesus and make him known in the lives of junior high and high school students. Because we believe parents are the primary disciple-makers of their children, our hope is to come alongside families to assist and equip in the discipleship process.

During the school year, junior high and high school students meet on Sunday evenings from 7-8:30 in the multi-purpose room to enjoy community and biblical discipleship. Sunday evenings include both large group gatherings and small group discussion as we seek to know God through His Word and apply it to our lives. On the fourth Sunday of each month, no gathering is held so that students can participate in the church’s monthly Prayer and Worship Nights.

Second Timothy 3:16-17 describes the Bible as authoritative and sufficient for every stage of the Christian life, and large group provides a specific time to learn from God’s Word and see who it calls us to be. Large group teaching includes biblical, systematic, and practical theology as we walk through entire books of the Bible, trace specific topics throughout Scripture, and view contemporary issues through a biblical lens.

Small groups immediately follow our large group gatherings on Sunday evenings and provide an opportunity for students to engage in deeper discussions about the Bible while also building relationships with others. All groups are gender- and age-specific and emphasize discussion and application.
