The mission statement of Pennington Park Church is “knowing Him and being known.” That means everything we believe, speak, and do points back to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gospel simply means good news. It is the good news that despite the fact that every one of us stands condemned before a holy God because of our sins—which is bad news—the God-man Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute who took the penalty for our sins and was resurrected as the victor over sin and death. For those who turn from their sin (repentance) and trust in who Jesus was and what he did (faith) they are forgiven, made a new creation, and adopted into God’s family.
This is the good news, the gospel, and it is the power that moves people from death to life at the moment of belief but it’s also the power that Christians live on daily. This is one of our Core Values at Pennington Park is we are shaped by the gospel. The gospel motivates and empowers our thoughts, desires, and actions. We never move past it but go deeper in it. We want Jesus and the aroma of grace and truth to permeate everything we do.
Here’s a helpful article with tips for writing out your own testimony of trusting in Jesus. We encourage everyone to write out their testimony of faith in Jesus, trying to condense it down to a shortened version.
